Royal Blue Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjivaram Saree with Mayil Chakram Butta
Royal Blue Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjivaram Saree with Mayil Chakram Butta
This royal blue Kanjivaram is woven with the Butta tradition — here the Mayil Chakram butta, the beloved peacock-wheel medallion rendered in gold zari, placed at intervals across the body, woven individually thread by thread on a traditional pit loom. Handwoven by artisan weaver families in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu. Silk Mark certified.
The royal blue body is woven in pure mulberry silk — deep saturated ultramarine with the characteristic inner luminosity of hand-reeled silk. Mayil Chakram butta in gold zari are scattered across the field in generous rhythmic arrangement, alongside smaller Kili butta at intervals. The dense gold zari Vanasringaram-style temple border with teal selvedge completes the composition — a saree suited for haldi ceremonies, Navarathri Golu, weddings, and temple festivals.
A royal blue Mayil Chakram Kanjivaram pairs best with a royal blue or teal silk blouse for a body-toned look. A deep gold or antique ivory raw silk blouse also works beautifully against the blue for a classic ceremonial contrast. Explore our full range of pure silk Kanchipuram sarees. Also handwoven in the Kanchipuram tradition: Korvai silk sarees, Vairaoosi silk sarees, and Zari Kattam silk sarees.
