Iridescent Lavender Blue Handwoven Pure Silk Kancheepuram Saree with Butta Motifs and Antique Gold Zari Border
Draped for a Vijaya Dashami (Dussehra) — the day of new beginnings celebrated at the temple, this iridescent lavender blue Pure Kanchipuram Silk saree is handwoven in the traditional Butta style. Generously spaced zari buttas are woven across the body, a hallmark of the Butta style. Each saree takes 40 days from dyeing to weaving and cannot be replicated by machine. Every thread passes through the hands of artisan families in Kunnam village in Kanchipuram district. Read our story.
❖ Handwoven to order, not mass-produced. 40 days from dye vat to finished drape, with 14 of dedicated loom time for the weave itself.
The Butta body in iridescent lavender blue — generously spaced zari buttas are scattered across a remarkable colour-shifting body, with the silk moving between lavender, lilac and soft peacock blue for a beautiful iridescent lustre, in pure mulberry silk.
The border is a broad antique-gold zari border, richly woven with traditional peacock and floral motifs followed by a dense geometric zari field, completed with a glowing zari pallu that carries the peacock and floral motifs of the border into the drape.
Handwoven by skilled artisan families in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, using pure mulberry silk and traditional handloom techniques, this saree is perfect for weddings, festive celebrations and statement occasions.
