At a Karthigai Deepam evening when the lamps are lit across every surface of the house, this arakku red lightweight Kanchi Pattu carries its depth without competing with the light — woven in the Korvai tradition using finer 2-ply and 3-ply mulberry silk yarns — lighter weight, easier movement, full Kanchipuram craftsmanship.

The body is arakku red silk with Kamalam Butta in compact gold zari at measured intervals. The Korvai construction joins body and border structurally on the loom. The border is bottle green silk with a Varisaipet structure of horizontal gold zari lines in the traditional multi-band register. The pallu opens into the bottle green ground with the same Varisaipet banding.
