The body is woven in arakku red in pure mulberry silk with Kamalam lotus and Mayil peacock buttas in coloured silk thread at measured intervals. The border is woven in deep green ground in the Korvai tradition — body and border woven separately and structurally interlocked on the loom. The pallu continues in the green Korvai tradition in devotional splendour.
