Deep Red Handwoven Pure Silk Pattu Chanderi Saree with Gold Kalka Butti and Zari Pallu
Deep Red Handwoven Pure Silk Pattu Chanderi Saree with Gold Kalka Butti and Zari Pallu
A saree for the evening you want to feel unmistakably yourself in — deep red pure silk with a quiet shimmer that catches the light without demanding it. This is a Pattu Silk Chanderi: woven entirely in pure mulberry silk with no cotton blend, the most luxurious of the four traditional Chanderi weaves, closest in feel to a Kanjeevaram but a fraction of the weight. Handwoven by the weavers' collective in Ashok Nagar, Chanderi, Madhya Pradesh. Read our Chanderi silk guide or learn about the four types of Chanderi silk.
The body is woven in deep red pure silk, scattered all over with small gold and silver kalka butti — delicate paisley-drop motifs in antique metallic thread, spaced evenly across the full length of the drape for a refined, all-over shimmer rather than a bold statement pattern. Explore our full Chanderi pure silk saree collection.
The border is woven self-colour in the same deep red, keeping the focus on the body's shimmer, and opens into a solid gold zari pallu — a wide, lustrous antique gold panel that anchors the saree without needing an elaborate motif. A saree that reads as quietly luxurious rather than loud.
Pair with a gold or deep red silk blouse and antique gold jewellery — well suited to festive mornings, temple visits, a wedding guest look, or any occasion that calls for elegant, comfortable silk rather than heavy ceremonial weight. See our full guide to styling Chanderi by occasion.
